I guess this method is faster when theres a lot of wrecks all over the place, but not worth it in shorts missions. Anyway, I tryed it the other day and I guess I did something wrong... I came back with a destroyer, but there was no wreck anymore. How do you guys do it? Is there a "timer" on the wrecks before they despawn or something?
Thanks!
Wrecks live for an hour or so (maybe 2 hours?).
As for your vexor... Personally, when I run the odd low level mission I do so in a vexor with no guns. You can fit 2 tracors and 3 salvagers on a vexor, which allows you to clean up the mess as your drones go about killing everything. I do the same in my dominix in level 4 missions. The ship may be a little slower at killing everything, but you are actually saving time by not having to come back in a salvage ship to clean up.
If you are having trouble with the rats not aggroing you then you can replace one of 'janitor' modules with a gun of your choice (I would do a salvager, as getting wrecks to the ship is usually the slow part). The gun can be anything, even the gun from your rookie ship, as you don't have to actually damage the rats to get aggro, just shoot at them with something. -=^=-

The only reason I can think of to actually run the missions yourself would be to get standings for things like jump-clones and such. Oh and getting the bounties from the rats is kind of nice as well
But yea, if all you are after is salvage components, then Joe is spot on. -=^=-

I am really getting tired of how as soon as someone mentions the word 'salvage' in a thread it has to turn into a debate over ninja salvage. -=^=-

They don't want to have the risk of losing their ship when the mission runner kills them because they stole the salvage that the mission runner has fought for. Only reason why mission runner would care to kill them is when they steal the salvage.
Please fix this.
End of story.
So you are saying that if I came into your mission space and stole from your wrecks causing myself to go redflashy, you would fire on me?
/me heads off to a locator agent...
<edit> BTW, before you start suggesting private mission areas, that is NEVER going to happen. A private mission area is going to cause super safe areas for war targets to hide, so... Aint gonna happen... -=^=-
